As a participant in the Golden Roots writing program, you will help feature some of the Canadian seniors within your local community. This is an opportunity to interview a senior you know, whether relative, neighbour, or family friend and tell their life story.

By participating in this project, you will gain insight and experience in how to interview and write non-fiction short stories and if your story is chosen, to have it published.

The grand prize for the winner of this project is a $3000.00 scholarship towards their education.

Since your story will compete for a scholarship, you are welcome to use writing guidance from teachers, online tutorials, family members, etc. You will however, have to write the story yourself.

Please see our general interview and rules pages for more information, and to ensure your story is strong enough to qualify for the final competition.
